How to use GovDeals to find Maryland surplus:

When you arrive at the GovDeals website, click the link for Advanced Search.

Then select the following search options: Maryland for the State and State of Maryland for the Seller Name.

GovDeals

Then click the Search button to view a list of available property for the State of Maryland.

DGS closed its surplus warehouse and is now selling the surplus through an online auction, GovDeals. This is much more convenient, green and cost saving to our customers.

The online auction is available at: www.govdeals.com.

Registration is not necessary to browse the site; however, you must register with www.GovDeals.com before placing a bid.

Non-Profit Organizations and Local Jurisdictions Instructions for Site Use

To Join the State of Maryland “Local Jurisdictions/Non-Profit Organizations” Tier:

Non-Profit Organization and Local Jurisdictions may request surplus items at no cost on a special GovDeals tier.  The property is listed for 5 days.  You may also subscribe to e-mail notification.

Non-Profit Organizations must submit State Form Exhibit 3 (complete the bottom portion only) and mail a letter of request along with a copy of their 501(c)(3) to the DGS Inventory Standards and Support Services Division for approval. Local Jurisdictions should submit State Exhibit 3 and a letter of request.

To Join Local Jurisdictions/Non-Profit Organizations or State Agency Tier:

Go to www.govdeals.com
Login with your Username and Password
Click on Tiers
Click on Select Seller
Click on State of Maryland in the drop-down window and click on Select
Click on Select beside the “Local Jurisdictions/Non-Profit”
To receive automatic notification of “new items” posted, select YES for notification
(Your membership in this tier should be approved in three business days)

 

To View Assets in the State of Maryland
“Local Jurisdictions/Non-Profit Organizations” Tier:

After you have been notified of tier member approval via e-mail, go to www.govdeals.com
Login with your Username and Password
Click on Tiers
Click on State of Maryland
Click on Yes in the Assets Available column for the “Local Jurisdictions/Non-Profit”
(You will be able to view all assets available in the “Local Jurisdictions/Non-Profit” tier.)

State Employee Property Managers Instructions for Site Use

  1. After you have been notified of tier member approval via e-mail, go to www.govdeals.com
  2. Login with your Username and Password
  3. Click on Tiers
  4. Click on State of Maryland
  5. Click on Yes in the Assets Available column for the “State Agencies”
  6. You will be able to view all assets available in the “State Agencies” tier
  7. Only those Property Officers authorized to claim items in the tier may do so
